Bio

Jessica Schroeder has been teaching piano lessons for over 20 years.  She is dedicated to developing her students into well-rounded, expressive, confident musicians who enjoy playing.  Her teaching philosophy includes personalized lessons with technique, theory, performance/listening skills, ear-training and sight-reading.  She values her relationship with students and teaches anyone who has a genuine interest in and commitment to learning piano, regardless of age or ability.  

Jessica currently is the pianist and organist at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Mercer Island, and teaches piano lessons at Alley Bell Music in Edmonds, WA.  Previously she was the organist and co-music director at Mindekirken, the Norwegian Lutheran Church and on piano faculty at MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, MN.  

In 2010 Jessica was awarded the Music Teachers National Association’s STAR award for outstanding academic, teaching and leadership achievement.  

Jessica is an active performer in the Twin Cities and Seattle areas.  She has appeared in concerts at venues such as Sundin Music Hall, the Schubert Club, Antonello Hall, and the Chapel of St. Ignatius, as well as throughout Italy and Austria.  

Jessica holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree in piano performance from Western Washington University, a Master’s of Music degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Northern Illinois University, a Master’s of Music degree in collaborative piano from the University of Oregon, and a Doctor of Musical Art’s degree in collaborative piano and coaching from the University of Minnesota.
